American history is full of dancing, from the foxtrot of the 1920s to the swing of the 1960s. Throughout the country, dance studios are keeping this form of history alive by offering classes in all sorts of dance. Popular television shows have increased interest in formal and casual dancing, and it’s easy for enthusiasts to find a place to take lessons or simply enjoy a social dance. Dancing has many benefits for practitioners.

Staying active is one of the best ways to keep yourself healthy as you age. Dancing provides two benefits: physical exercise and social interaction. Dancing is an excellent form of exercise. It is low-impact, so it won’t hurt your joints. Most importantly, it’s fun. Rather than dragging yourself to a gym, you can go to a dance hall and enjoy yourself. You can also enjoy meeting new people and interacting with old friends. Dancing is a social activity that encourages conversation and making friends. You can enjoy developing relationships with people from a variety of ages as you dance the day away.

Whatever your reasons for dancing and whatever style you prefer, you can take care of yourself and have a good time at your local dance studio.

The band talks about being on tour after years of years of performances. It should come as no surprise that it’s hard to keep the energy alive with something so tedious. Lots of bands dismember and fold, but true artists find a way to keep touring even when the schedules become strenuous.

It’s easy to see how the members of the various jazz bands can keep going. It’s obvious that they are motivated by much more than money. They love the music and they really want to do it for the fans. This is the most important part. This is what allows them to tour even when they have lost their way.

The band knows about all the highs and lows that come with a long career. Some albums are well received. Others are tossed aside. The tours make up for all of the lows, however, because the fans show their love. This is what the band really loves about being on tour. The fans treat them like they are royalty. It doesn’t matter how many times they have played in a city. They get accolades for their performances. This makes it much easier to go on and give 100.

Sometimes the band wonders if they are overbooking themselves are doing too many shows. The rehearsals, sound checks and performances can be grueling for artists. Living on the road takes a lot out of them. It also takes a lot out of their families. The great thing about this is that they build a bond with another family while they are on the road. The band could not go on tour together if there was no love for one another. The band also looks out on the crowd as family. Each night they have a family reunion in different cities.

If you haven’t heard of this man then you need to stop reading this and head on down to the nearest music store or fire up the old 4G broadband service and download a track.

Boney James is one of the most influential modern and urban jazz musicians of our time. With three Grammy Awards and a Soul Train Award under his belt, James has continued to dazzle the music world with his unique blend of soothing saxophone and cold, hard distance and isolation. At times the music is soothing, at other times it is sad but it is always soulful and full of life. These are real feelings and real emotions, layers of meaning packed into every note.

His live performances have been widely acclaimed as well. He doesn’t just stand rigid like a straw man while the audience watches. He confidently maneuvers his way through the crowd, getting everyone into the action and never missing a beat.

If you haven’t heard of this legendary man, then you need to wake up and get on board.

One of the keys to losing weight and getting or staying healthy is exercising. The amount of time needed varies with different needs. For example, to maintain one’s weight, 30 minutes of exercise three to five times a week is necessary. In order to lose weight, though, 60 minutes of exercise five times a week is needed. This exercise only counts toward the time if it is aerobic. This means that the exercise must increase and sustain one’s heartbeat and breathing, which benefits cardiovascular health. For example, 20 minutes of lifting weights does not contribute to the time needed to reach one’s health goals.

One way to get aerobic exercise is to dance. It is fun, energetic and doesn’t feel like exercise. Jazz, hip-hop and even ballet can raise the heart rate and breathing, meaning it is a type of aerobics. It can be done in an aerobic dance class, in a cheerleading squad, at a dance or even at home. Dancing can also be done in combination with other things. For example, housewives have been known to recommend dancing while doing the housework. Students have suggested dancing while listening to books or study materials on CD. Dancing is fun, energetic and can be done almost anytime and anywhere.

Music can do many things, it can make you feel better when you are feeling down, it can drive emotions, it can inspire, and it also can bring memories back from the haze of the past. Music is kind of a cultural memory in a way. Different styles, evolutions, or even just rhythms can define the significance of an era. Listen to Gershwin-s Rhapsody in Blue, the jazzy undertones and playful runs make me think of the 50-s. It is still a standard for many musicians and composers alike.Confused? Here ‘s a little help . Even if you don-t know the song by name I can almost guarantee that you would know it if it is played for you.

So how does great music get shared? Well there are many ways to do this; school, family, exposure, and just plain experimentation. There are so many types of music that even if you don-t like many types there is sure to be one that will make your heart swell. Music is a very strong conveyer of emotions, and it can be used to relieve stress or express passion. The song Bolero by Ravel is a perfect example of build up. The song is approximately eight minutes long starting with just 2 or 3 instruments and gradually builds and swells to a wall of sound.

Enjoying the ballet with the entire family can be a wonderful and educational experience. It maybe that some of your family is all for it, but then others grumble about going on such an outing together. If this is true then try exposing them to some of the more popular ballet shows, like the Nutcracker and others that are popular during the holiday season. It might be helpful to explain to some unwilling family members, that the ballet is akin to the martial arts and that dance is a pinnacle artform like athletics. All around the experience of going to a live ballet performance has the presence of a rock concert, the theatrics of a movie and the athletics of any major sporting event. Anyone who views the ballet with an open mind will see the parallels between the dancing and other forms of art that the regularly enjoy. This is something that the ballet can teach both young and old alike, by appreciation of the arts do we enrich ourselves and expand our minds to many new concepts. Dancing is an important human experience. These things are some food for thought when enjoying the ballet with the entire family. You thought this was good? Brace yourself: Birmingham Royal Ballet

Music is an incredibly powerful mode of expression. Composers have so many choices and methods for drawing out emotions both of their own and for the listeners. Different styles of music can inspire different emotions. A lot of modern compositions can deal with a range from soft and intimate to powerful and booming. Jazz and swing both have great methods for using lighter feels that get you moving. With modern composers have some sounds at their disposal that weren-t around in the past with the use of electronics such as synthesizers and electric guitars. They have the unique ability to fuse the old with the new.

With modern composers that moved from other musical backgrounds like Stewart Copeland, Jonny Greenwood, and Bjork the lines become even more blurred. But the heart and soul is there. You listen to the music and you feel the passion and energy. Chick Corea has become one of the most prolific composers in the past 40 years just due to his volume of work. He has reworked bebop, jazz, fusion, funk and even children-s songs into his body of work. To put it simply there is no shortage of vibrant composers in this modern day. And they do not shy from sharing their passion and soul in what they create.
